Hello Salty Lovers! Jenn here from Jennifer Therese taking over the site today from the inspiring and lovely Kristy as her guest fashion blogger! Normally, I do outfit posts of looks I wear from a day to day basis, but I wanted to switch it up and do a business style look. When the look was complete I remember feeling pretty and kind of sexy in a way.  This jacket was a fabulous find from TJ Maxx.  I swear that store is one of my favorites! You can find such unique pieces for such a good price. As for the skirt this was a piece that found itself a place in my closet without me expecting it at all. 

This summer my mom was doing what I like to call a closet cleanse, and getting rid of things she just didn't wear anymore.  Of course she always lets me look through everything before she gives it to good will and this was one of the items I tried on and loved!  I was shocked! I remember always thinking I could never pull off a longer length skirt because I am so short (coming in at 5'3 on a good day) but to my surprise I loved it!  I mean, it happened to fit perfectly and it was just so sleek and professional looking, I couldn't pass it up. 

If you do not already have a knee length skirt, add it to your shopping list! If you are just as against them as I was, you have to find one that flatters you.  Just like anything, different fabrics and designs fit body types differently. Find one that works for your figure and give it a try :)

I'm in love with this skirt! This is something I normally would not have picked out from a rack, but I love it! I want to wear it everyday! It adds an edginess to any outfit. The plaid brings out Fall and it is such a comfortable shirt. I also wore it more casual, you can check that post out here.

My dad arrives tonight! He is coming out here to spend Thanksgiving with us. I honestly can't believe that it's already the end of November. These holidays are just flying by and it's going to be 2014 before we know it!

THANK GOODNESS IT'S FRIDAY

I am all about bigger and slouchy shirts. I can definitely take it to a more extreme than this shirt is, but just for a simple long sleeve shirt, I love the high-low touch! It most definitely adds to the fun style. I paired this shirt with some jeans that I got awhile back from Target but I love these pants. I am not much of a jean wearer because leggings have my heart, but these are reversible so who couldn't be obsessed? The side you are seeing is the shimmery (camera doesn't do them justice) pink side while the other side has white hearts scattered across the fabric. I will have to show them in the future in another collection. 

Anyway, I hope you guys are all having a great Friday and getting super stoked that Black Friday is coming up! I love the energy you feel around the holidays. Dave has to hold me back because I insist on going shopping everyday. Not only to decrease my closet space, but to feed off everyone's excitement! Gosh I love it.

FALL FASHION WISH LIST & FASHION MUST-HAVES

Wow, why do weekends go by so fast? Since most of us aren't too excited about Mondays rolling around, I thought it was a good idea to spice things up by letting the fabulous Mikell, from Love & Such take over for the day. Not only is she just darling, but her fashion sense is superb and she is going to help us ALL with some little details of what we can do to spice up our fall ensembles!

I've been so excited to be able to write a guest post here at The Salty Mess! 

My name is Mikell and I blog over at Love & Such.

I originally started blogging when my sweet husb and I got married so we could keep our family up to date on our busy lives. My "married life" blog was eventually taken over by my love for beauty & fashion! Although I still love to write posts about married life, family, faith & love, I always find my way back to shopping links and lipstick posts. I chose the name Love & Such for my blog because I have a space all to my own to write about everything I love!

With the Holidays JUST around the corner (no seriously, where has November gone?!) I wanted to share with you my ideal outfit for those upcoming Holiday parties!

I chose a dark accented tulle skirt because nothing says fancy like tulle! I love that it's lightweight & beautifully feminine. I paired it with a chambray shirt to dress it down just slightly. I chose these black Valentino strappy stud heels because, well look at them!! SO Dreamy. I love the classic black which can be paired with anything. I also added them because they are completely out of my price range, and well, a girl can dream can't she?? *Sigh* I chose my idea of perfect accessories to top off this Holiday outfit. Sparkly gold earrings & a gold and pearl necklace.

I'm a total sucker for lip gloss & don't feel completely put together until I've got some shine or color on my lips. I chose a light pink NARS gloss to complete this outfit. I kept with the nude shades for the lip so we didn't distract from the outfit itself!
